1.)As an introcdution could you please sum up the most important facts of the band with regards to the foundation and the history of Silent Love of Death, previsous releases and possible line-up changes?
Silent Love Of Death was founded around the beginning of 2000 with the composition of the songs which would form "The Poet´s Senses".In the other hand we had been involved in other musical project named Lament from 1996 to 2000. We released 3 demos with Lament: "Lament", "Grey Age" and " Resting in a place like this", moving between dark pop and gothic rock. There is a change of sound and contents between both musical projects.
2.)What were your musical influences when you started the band? Did these influences change over the years?
Our musical influences have always been very varied, going from dark ambient to rock industrial. However we have an special taste for bands like Joy Division, Death In June, Lycia, etc…
3.)As far as I know "The Poet's Senses" already was recorded and released back in 2002, so why did it take such a long time before the album was released by Palace of Worms here in Europe again?
The thing is that Guido Borgetti of Palace of Worms had another musical works to release. We didn´t have any problem to wait because Palace Of Worms was our first option. Finally the delay has been worth the trouble.
4.)How did you get into contact with Palace of Worms?
POW was one of the first labels which we sent “The Poet´s Senses” to. We knew his references thanks to works like the compilation “Heligie Tod”. Guido was put in contact with us and he asked us what we expected from a musical label. We didn´t have any doubt.
5.)As already mentioned the album was recorded three years back, so I guess you already wrote a lot of new songs waiting to be published. How do these songs sound like and when can we expect a new release?
We have a lot ideas in mind but not yet they are made specific
What was the initial idea to call the album "The Poet's senses"?
This work is a tribute to the poet´s figure. The poet is the discoverer of a more generous reality, more intense, difficult to be accessed for the majority of persons. This individual has the ability of perception beyond the real thing…
7.)What does the poet stand for in general?
8.)A lot of the lyrics seem to be inspired by E.A.Poe, William Blake or
Baudelaire. So how important are these writers for the conceptional background not only of the album, but also the band itself? Obviously these writers have influenced us in our view of the world. We feel identified by their ideal of fight against the established order.
9.)Where do you draw your lyrical inspiration from?
All the lyrics are adaptations of poems by Baudelaire, Blake, Poe, Valery, Espronceda, Rosalia de Castro y Becquer.
10.)Is there a connection between the songs of the album and the beautiful artwork?
Of Course. The designer has reflected the feeling of the music in the artwork. We are very satisfied with the result.
11.)Looking back at the album and the recordings are you still satisfied withit? Would you like to change little things here and there or dou you stink it stood the test of time?
With the pass of time the author is able to have a more objective vision about his work. Nowadays in that point we are very satisfied.
12.)How does a typical Silent Love of Death show look like? Do you use certain show elements?
Currently we are not planning to play in concert. We have an idea too ambitious to perform a concert, so with our own media it´s now impossible.
13.)What is your attitude towards visual arts like videos etc. and combining them with your music? Do you have plans to release a DVD in the upcoming future?
We think that combining visual arts with our music would be very interesting. Why not?. DVD?... not yet.
14.)What do you think of todays Spanish Goth scene and bands such as Casual for example? Are the more recommendable Goth bands around?
Fortunately the spanish scene has a very good health. Listen to bands like Morpheus, Narsilion, etc. We strongly recommend the compilation of spanish bands “My Dear Freaks” (Caustic Records)
15.)What about plans for a European/German tour?
Nowadays we are no planning any tour.
16.)What are your next plans and ideas for Silent
Love of Death in the coming months?
Begin to compose and record the new songs.
